Great singer Amaradewa and Rookantha in a same outdoor musical show









Pandith Amaradewa was born in 05th of December in 1927. He is one of the great classical singers in Sri Lanka. But his real name was Wannakuwatta Mitiwaduge Don Albert Perera. Later he adopted the name Amaradewa. Pandit Amaradeva has been the receiver of several prizes such as the Filipino Ramon Magsaysay Prize (2001), Native indian Padma Sri Prize and Sri Lankan "President's Prize of Kala Keerthi" (1986) and Deshamanya Prize (1998). In 2003 the France govt granted him the famous honour, Chevalier.
Today we show you a video of his Great singer Pandith Amaradeva and Rookantha Gunathilaka singing ' Irahada Payala Loke' Song on a live musical show on a same stage. Normally Pandith Amaradeva wont participate for the out door live musical shows. Somehow we hope you enjoy the combination of these singers.
